Google Code: open source tools for hacking Google

Playtime………

Experimental Gameplay is the result of a project undertaken by a group of students at Carnegie Mellon University to create 50 to 100 games in 1 semester.

Some of the games are good, some awful, but I particularly recommend Particle Suck, Opposites Attract and Tower of Goo.

delta 32

If your European ancestors survived the Bubonic Plague 700 years ago, they very likely may have also passed on to you a mutation of the CCR5 gene — called delta 32. This may not sound exciting, but delta 32 is a powerful mistake. HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, attacks the human immune system, infecting the white blood cells sent to destroy it. The delta 32 mutation, however, effectively blocks the crucial gateway into human cells the virus needs. In fact, possessing delta 32 could save your life, and the lives of your children.

U.N. landmine commerical won’t air in US.

A U.N. commercial depicts American girls playing in a soccer match. A girl steps on a landmine and there’s a big explosion. Kids get blown apart. CNN and other networks don’t want to air the ad.

The explosion appears to kill and injure some girls, sparking panic and chaos among parents and other children. Shrieks of horror are heard through much of the spot, and a father is shown cradling his daughter’s lifeless body, moments after celebrating a goal she had scored.

It closes with a tag line reading: “If there were landmines here, would you stand for them anywhere? Help the U.N. eradicate landmines everywhere.”

You can view the ad here.

Staples

I remember this one time in college our instructor caught a student stapling cat5 cable to his dorm room wall. He so wanted to hit him, what sort of sick fuck does that to a poor cable? use a ziptie+cables, or get decent clips from radioshack.. but fucking staples? What sort of suckass sick bitch does that to a poor innocent cable? It’s just wrong, on so many levels. No skill having coke-heads.

It’s insulting to me as a person who isn’t as stupid as that person. Speaking of which, I migrated the site to a new host with 0 downtime, look at me, I gots skillz. Boobs who have downtime during migrations should get some skills.

Son of Talon

I left a box behind at IK that I missed, after hearing that its no longer in production due to massive hardware failure (due to lack of tender love and care no doubt), I decided to built its twin here.

Luna and Snow

Luna is sitting on the window sil of the living room picture window watching the snow fall, I’ve never thought of it before, but everytime it snows, that kitty is in the window. She must love it, all that movement. She’s definitely a hunter. I can just imagine what she’s going to be like this spring, its going to be so damn funny.

Voodoo knife rack in shape of a person

This “voodoo” knife rack, which depicts a human form pierced by your knife collection in many strategic locations, is the best kitchen thinggy I’ve ever seen. They should make custom head-shaped ones with the face of your choice, so you can start your day by stabbing your least favorite person in the world in the face repeatedly as you make breakfast.

Canada gives up sovereignty to USA

Days ago, Our new ambassador to the US said that Canada was already part of the controversial US Missile Defence plan. Today Prime Minister Paul Martin finally stopped dithering and declared that we would not join the controversial program. The American ambassador to Canada is confused by this… confused that we would choose to relinquish it’s sovereignty to the US.
For that matter, so am I..

    Rogers is for suckers

I’ve decided that with the recent changes to my rogers setup, I’m so ditching them. They sold me on this ‘Rogers Xtreme!’ service, which meant I got a 5mbit line vs the standard 3mbit line. Then 6 months later (ie, now) they lock bandwidth useage accross the boards at 60 gigs per month?
So I’m moving my websites to a seperate host that loves me and rocks, and i’m switching ISP’s to NBTel. I’ve heard rumours that Telus was coming this way, I hope so. This whole ‘2 ISPs’ thing really blows.
Found some of my old posts about how much I hate rogers, looks like this was the last straw.
The 100$ I dished out for the new modem is non-refundable. That’s so fucking stupid. Oh, and the best part of the whole stupid thing is, that if I stayed with rogers and violated their rules, i’d be banned for a year from using their service, read more here.

    They have a Plan

Rather unusually, the Sci-Fi channel have made the entire first episode of their new Battlestar Galactica show available online, uncut and without commercials, for free (Real format, not bad video quality). While the series is still being aired in the US and Australia, the first episode has now been shown in all markets and the Sci-Fi channel may be trying to figure out if making the ep available online could improve ratings.

Their decision may have been aided by the fact that the show was aired in the UK two months before the US, resulting in an awful lot of US fans downloading the show; normally it’s the other way around.
