Well now, arent I on the ball?

I figure these two books will help out with our geocaching a fair bit, as well as our biking habits.
Nova Scotia & the Maritimes by Bike: 21 Tours Geared for Discovery and Mountain Bike! Atlantic Canada: A Guide to the Classic Trails.
I’m thinking I’m going to see a very happy Jenn when she reads about those books. Unfortunately, they dont haev them on hand at the Chapters here, so I can’t preview before I buy. Bastards!
Also, I forgot today was election day, off to vote at 1:00pm I go, yay. I hoep the lines aren’t too bad..

Worry not

The woman’s all worried due to the fact the atkins diet is pretty much the reverse of the fat free diet we were on.
I’m glad she figured out that once we get past phase one, we can have a lot more good stuff. Once we finish starving our bodies to death that is.
Fuck I could use a sammich.

Legend

Got a 2nd GPS today, finally the woman can stop going on about how the GPS was hers.. hehe.
Got a Garmin Etrex Legend.
Not a bad little gadget, tested it out tonight for a little bit, worked pretty damn good. I like the road map features the best, now we can never get lost.. which takes the fun out of road trips a little, but maybe sometimes I can just forget it at home 🙂

Damn You Alex.

So I’ve decided that despite the fact I’ve lost 25lbs (from 245 to 220) on the fat free diet, I’m going to do the whole Atkins thing.
The thing about the fat free diet is that its just too damn hard to follow and I’m always hungry. I don’t follow it too strictly, so swapping diets should be fairly easy for me.
I’ve only got about 5-10 more lbs to reach before hitting my ideal weight, so it shouldn’t be that hard. I don’t gain weight in the summer anyway, all that geocaching/biking. But it’d be nice to lower my bmi to the point it was in high school/early college when I was active in marathon cycling.

Yeah Baby

So, my wench is now offically mine. yay to that shit. We’ll take the money she was saving and go by a wicked gps, and some other expensive toys for me. Yay to unexpected money!

Hot Sauces

Hot sauce reviews, a pepper primer, and ways to make your own.
I’m big on the hot sauces, not like when Paul and Dave try to burn the shit outta their taste buds, I love some good flavour. Paul does make a hell of a good chili though.. when he’s not trying to kill people.

The Pin-up Files

This site contains hundreds of classic and modern drawings of glamorous and beautiful women. (in case you didnt notice, each letter in the words “classic” and “modern” is a link, some of the most popular images.)
Also includes artist bios, notes on many of the images, and a great list of links to other sites. I find it interesting to see how our idea of what is erotic or beautiful have changed (and remained the same) from the ’40’s to today.

Spiderman.. the Indian version?

Forget translations. Spiderman gets remade, bottom-to-top, for the subcontinent.
Some really nice artwork, and what looks to be a good story. I want a copy.. somebody hook me up.

The Red Dirt Dash

What a weekend.. we managed to tie for 3rd in the geocaching event this weekend, which was a very tight race. Only 2 caches seperated us from the people in first, which if it hadnt started to rain we might have gotten 🙂
Camped out, drank a shitload of beer, met some knew folks, got to know some people better, and had a blast. All in all, a rocking weekend in PEI. Jenn should have some pictures up soon.
Jenn and I always have a blast when we goto PEI. We left a few caches in the province to do with Jenn’s mom when we bring her next time.

ATI Mods rock.

Do you have an ATI Radeon video card? If so, Adrian’s Rojak Pot has a story up that shows you how to convert your Radeon based video card into a Fire GL card, with no physical modification through a process which modifies the video BIOS. The difference primarily between a normal Radeon video card and a Fire GL card is (drum roll…..) $120+ dollars, and enhancements designed for CAD and rendering programs. (entire list of certified programs that take advantage of Fire GL are in this PDF, including Adobe Premier) Video BIOS images are available here. Of course, modding your video card is certainly nothing new, as hacking ones BIOS can be an easy (if not somewhat dangerous) way to get more power from your investment. (Note: Although you can save a bad flash, the process is somewhat difficult. Attempt mod at your own risk.)

Prom Story

In a series of essays at Slate (1, 2, 3) a journalist in his mid-20s lightheartedly recounts the experience of escorting a 17-year-old girl to her high-school prom (purely for journalistic purposes, it’s worth noting). Posters at Slate’s reader discussion forum, in spite of its supremely cumbersome interface, express their strong (and not always coherent) disapproval, based mostly on the age difference between the author and his prom date.
The author of the essays responds: "As the film critic Richard Roeper (who is much older, and much more influential than myself) pointed out in Esquire recently, this is indeed a strange cultural moment, one made all the stranger by the fact that we’re not supposed to admit [it] actually exists." I’m not the biggest fan of journalists who engage in seemingly socially taboo behavior for the sole purpose of writing an article, but this made for interesting reading nonetheless.

Dr. Cat v. Dog, Esq.

Doctors refuse laywers. So your last client managed to get restitution from that quack who left the clamp in her abdomen, just in time to pay for your daughter’s delivery. Good luck finding an OB. Or perhaps your husband works for a law firm. Good luck with that nursing job. Maybe you’re a neurosurgeon making less take-home than your insurance premiums. What are you going to say to the next ambulance chaser with migrane trouble?
The war between the two solitudes could start racking up a real body-count.

Mmm beer..

Dude. Register to vote and you can get free beer! What better way to reach that vast pool of unregistered twenty-one year-olds than offering them something they actually want?

We’ve got big balls.

Yeah, not even I have balls this size.
Imagine an ordinary baseball…Now imagine that same baseball with over 18,135 coats of paint on it. Getting the picture? Good, because that’s exactly what my wife, Glenda and I have done for the past 27 years. Now that ordinary baseball that once weighed less than one pound now weighs in right around 1,300 pounds!

Led goodness

Getting prepped for this weekends rally. Picked up a couple of these. One for me, one for the woman.

The Weekend

The Red Dirt Dash.
Can’t wait to get this thing underway. It’s going to rock, anybody who wants to come can give me a shout, and we’ll see what we can do.

Yahoooo

The woman will like this.
Personally it means shit all to me because I run my own mailserver. 1 gig? shit. I got like 200 gigs. I’m the man.

Lore Brand Comics

This site rocks. Here’s one of my fav comics from it so far.

Kids are nuts

Did i mention this? Found it a long time ago, meant to pass it on.
My mother would have kicked my little white ass if I had pulled shit like that.

Steroids?

There’s this crazy Welsh town that has an annual 22-mile human vs. horse race, with a £1000 cumulative prize for any human that manages to beat the horse that’s gone unclaimed for 25 years — until now.

Ghetto Fabulous?

If nothing else, check this shit out for the surprise of so many random white dudes in bad pimps-n-hos attire.
